Hi Tony,
I am about as far from an expert as you can get on this board but it sounds to me like they are from 1963, if they are in fact from a Corvette.
Out of curiosity, what color?

I think that the changeover in 1963, (early vs. late), was somewhere around serial #5,000 to 7,000 or earlier.
You can also spot the difference between the two by the stitch pattern of the 2 box's with the X in the middle. Later models had them overlapping.

Tony. 1963 Corvette tags were model 771. Model "772" were used in 1964. The"772CB-H 63" shown in 'the Book' is from an early 1964 Passenger car, not a vette. Clete
