Re: GM parts direct shipping?
Definately don't use them if you are in a hurry.I placed an order with them 15 day's ago and still have no part's. I got a phone # from one of the other member's and I am going to call them today. They will not answer thier e-mail's all you get is a blanket statement that say's they will answer each message in the order it was recieved.I'm still waiting. All I want to know is where are my part's?when do you plan on shipping? If you need the part's I would pay a little more and go somewhere else. Tom- Top

Re: GM parts direct shipping?
ya'll need to remember this is a Chebbie dealership parts department (believe it to be FLOW CHEVROLET???) we are talking about here - many times they do NOT have the parts in their inventory and they need to get them from a warehouse, another dealer, etc. - so if speed is of the essence, probably not the way to goRick Aleshire

Re: GM parts direct shipping?
yes, the "S&H" component is where soe mark-up creeps in with GMPD - need to compare "as shipped" price to other price quotes to properly assess the "deal". Still, I find them to be a good deal, price-wise.
as for rapidity of order fullfillment, yes yes they are akin to a parts operation at a dealership (which is what they are - Flow Chevrolet) and not like Long Island Corvette with every part on their shelves - quite often GMPD orders a aprt when you order it with them. Not the route to go if you are hoping to be driving your car again in a few days with the new part installed.
As for my experience with them, I have been ordering GM parts from GMPD since Nov 2001 (for my Avalanche, for my 65 Corvette, for other GM cars).65 MM Convertible, L76 (365 hp)- Top

Re: GM parts direct shipping?
If you know ANYONE at your local GM dealer you should be able to get an equal or close price deal on equivalent part numbers. What GMPD and Flow Chevy give away in pricing their parts (discount), they generally make up for with their EXPENSIVE SHIPPING CHARGES.
I have found them to be none to very little cheaper over my local GM wholesale parts division at the dealer with MUCH better service and a smile most of the time!- Top
