I just recently went to my first ncrs meet,, a local chapter in tulsa was the host i guess one could say,, however,, im a little confused on something,, the manual for the 87-89 states on page 59 that the body paint was "high solid, acrylic enamel,, now on the inside of the console lid it says,, base coat clear coat,, a judge also told me base coat, clear coat,, so which is it??help please,, thanks, doug ,,,, ps,, i really enjoyed my first meet!!

Both responses are correct. Chemical description is distinctly different from the application process. Corvettes were finished with an enamel basecoat and clear top coat starting in 1981 after production moved to the new Bowling Green plant. The new plant had completely new paint facilities to utilize new paint technology.- Top
