    The Last Stingray on SpeedTV

SpeedTV ran a three hour documentary last night on the history of the c1 and c2 including the restoration of the last produced 1967 by the Nabers shop. It is going to run again on the evening of Nov 30th according to their programminmg schedule. I watched the whole thing and the time flew by.

I also watched the whole thing. It was great to see some familiar faces on TV at the Florida meet. I wish the show would have spent more time on the Naber's Brothers restoration and less time rehashing the history of the Corvette.

I'm in agreement jd. The show was obviously a BJ promo piece to hype a car with no true history other than being of circumstantial numeric interest. Topic as titled was more to do with a higher sales price than a restoration. Any car can be hyped to higher bidding. Terry M. should have been a Master Illusionist, oh wait a minute, he is. I'm glad you brought that up. I saw it and I said surely they wouldn't show that. Pretty good program though. Terry Robertson

            Uh...What did they use?...0000?

Clearly, they ain't no dummies...If you can make it look like lacquer with steel wool, it saves the time, effort, masking materials, and redos of shooting the jams separately with flattened paint that NEVER seems to give consistent results.

I was surprised that they didn't credit all the sponsors who donated parts and services to the restoration, nor did they say anything about the portion of the proceeds from the B-J sale that will go to the Chip Miller foundation; seems like a major oversight to me, sponsors probably feel the same way.

Did you see the car at Old Town? Paint looked much, much better'n new to me.......if you know what I mean. I wouldn't want to be the one to ding that particular car on paint issues. Especially with the TV camera rolling.

                    John,

They also did not mention how they repaired the damaged original block. Do you know?

No original motor in that car. I'm sure it was one of the mega-buck motors that came from the guy named Chuck in CT who seems to have an endless supply of #351 blocks. He has them on ebabe all the time for a BIN of $8K. I'd hate to have been the guy who dropped that block.

Quite frankly, I hope BJ is the "Last Time"...

... I have to go through the pain of hearing about the "Last Corvette"...
