Is the AC Delco #174-820 (GM#10157996) a PBR brand? Has anyone rebuilt a PBR with the AC 175-619 kit and do you need any other parts not in the kit?Is there a service out there who rebuilds them?

I don't know that it is, but I strongly suspect that it is. As far as I know, original brake system components that were manufactured by PBR are also SERVICED by PBR components. The AC-Delco SERVICE parts are PBR parts in AC-Delco boxes. Delco-Moraine never manufactured brake system parts that were also manufactured by PBR. By the same token, some of the original C4 brake parts that were originally manufactured by Delco-Moraine are not also manufactured by PBR. That's too bad since most of the Delco-Moraine-manufactured components are GM-discontinued since Delco-Moraine, under DELPHI ownership, "shed" the manufacturing of most of these items. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 90 ZR1 master cylinder

I have confirmed that the GM #10157996 master cylinder is, indeed, manufactured by PBR. This master cylinder, also known as Delco #174-820, carries a GM list price of $654.04.
Curiously, there is another master cylinder also applicable to 1990 Corvettes (both L-98 and LT-5 used the same master cylinder). It is GM #18030641, also known as Delco #18M399. This master cylinder is also manufactured by PBR and is absolutely identical in, at least, external configuration. However, this master cylinder carries a GM list of $273.23.
So, what's the difference between these two parts? I wish I knew!In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 90 ZR1 master cylinder
Thanks Joe. Found a new one on ebay for $99 so I bought it. Ecklers has the AC Delco advertised for 229. Don't know which one it is. If I figure out the difference will post it.- Top
