Anyone know of an "old timer" who can properly align my '65. I have slotted shims, new bolts and t-arms rebuilt by Bair's, there should be no problems there. I rebuilt the front-end, all shims replaced in original positions, just need to get it all "dialed-in". I live in the Glendale/Burbank area. Thanks...

Re: Looking for a GOOD alignment shop in So Cal
I don't know if they do much work on vintage Corvettes, but Johnson Alignment in Torrance (near the corner of Hawthorne Blvd. and 190th) has an excellent reputation and is very well thought of by Porsche Owner's Club racers.
If you get down to that area, drop by and talk to them.
I can't speak from personal experience as I do all my own alignment work.
My suggested "touring settings" are zero camber, and 1.5-2.0 deg caster on the front end (higher end of the caster range for power steering) and 1/16" total toe-in.
One-half deg. negative camber on the rear with 1/32" toe-in on EACH wheel, for a total of 1/16".
My "sport settings" are as above, except for more negative camber - up to minus one deg. on both ends.
If you have them do the work you would probably be best served if you bring a selection of shims for both front and rear.

THANKS Roy, Duke, Kevin...
I went to Spence in Glendale and they did a great job at a very reasonable price. The car has never driven better since I bought it over 10 years ago. Nothing like new bushings, ball joints, tie-rods, rebuilt steering box, trailing arms, ect. and a proper alignment.
Duke, thank you for the specs, I went with the "touring settings".- Top
