What kind of paint should I use for suspension parts on my 65 (upper/lowers, trailing arms, sway bar, springs, etc)? I'm bead blasting and/or sand blasting and rebuilding. Im sure there are several on the market, but are some better than others? Do I need to prime the parts first? Thanks!

Re: paint help
I believe the control arms are semi-flat black, frame was black with an asphaltic base in it, sway bar was natural as I recall, springs were natural. I recomemd you use clear on all your natural parts or some type of look a like paint. I easily stand to be corrected on this but I am pretty certain that is how it went.

Re: paint help
Definitely prime the parts. SEM makes a good "rattle can" self etching primer in black. Upper and lower control arms, innershafts, and bushings were a semi-gloss. Rear trailing arms were also. Check the judging manual about the finish on the sway bar and springs. Some years were painted and some were natural. My manuals are at the office. Drive and half shafts were natural.Dick Whittington- Top
