Re: What's Wrong With This Picture?
The steering stabilizer would do it for me, as it won't clear the FI pan, the coil bracket is not corvette, the vaunted "extra wire" should be taped to the harness main, and I sure would like to see the Radiator core support reinforcements.Bill Clupper #618- Top

here's my 2 cents
In addition to Bill C's steering damper; other red flags
-- 60 lb oil gauge
-- FI/Carb slot was on ALL top ignition shields
-- convertible top # 1 top bow seems to be flat and wide (later '65) rather than round (but it might just be my interpretation of the pic)
-- would have been nice to have differntial ratio code info.
-- pile of parts shows '64 (or '63 ?) rocker panels
-- and how convenient ! (no rad support)
The throttle lever DOES seem OK for all except L75 and L78.
Trim tag DOES have the early STYLE format (prior to about D20 S-body dates)- Top

Re: here's my 2 cents
I am not commenting about this particular car though I did glance at it. However, I live in CA, flew to PA for Thanksgiving, my brother drove my wife and I to this business East of Pittsburgh. I wanted to look at blue 68 Vette also on EBAY, the frame was NOT fine, front crossmember cut and flat plates welded in temporarliy. Also firewall was not solid, cracked/broken/seperated sections. Also they had some C2 tubs (expensive), looked for VIN/body tags, they told me these items removed and kept in the office for safekeeping. I am not comfortable with that.
What I am trying to say is I would NOT buy over EBAY and the descriptions are questionable. But they do have many cars and parts, mostly 1972 and older (even had a 69 Z/28 and 63 409 Impala). Go in person, Bedford PA is a nice 2 hour PA Turnpike drive East of Pittsburgh (and in Bedford, the Jean Laffitt? Inn has great food and history)

Thanks to those discerning eyes that responded below. Yes, there are more than one thing wrong, and some of you caught it. I won't say, in case the seller is watching! It is significant, and rules out a FI car. Things could have been changed over the years, but this one is highly unlikely. All in all, not nearly worth the asking price of $27,500.00!! When I spoke to the seller, he practically BEGGED me to point out the problem. I declined, of course.

I don't think the law enforcement would be, either.
Isn't PA one of those states that insists on nailing a big ugly state-issued VIN plate that has no connection to the original VIN, even when the original VIN is known?- Top
