Re: Ebay oil pan question
Dick, The pan looked good to me. Don't know about the orange though. Did you know that some oranges from Florida are green when they are ripe? One of the swamp boys sent me some good oranges and I complained to this Z06 guys that the oranges weren't orange but were green. He said that's the way we pick them and eat them. The orange companies dye them orange. Trivia for the day. John- Top

Re: Ebay oil pan question
Best I can tell from the old one I have in the shop, it looks pretty darn good. Lot better that the other new pan on ebabes. That one looks nothing like what I have here. The only resembalance between that one and the one in the shop is that they both hold oil and they fit a small block. Me thinks I will buy one and give it a try.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Ebay oil pan question
Dick------
It looks real good to me. However, there are a few "caveats":
1) The left (driver) side of the pan is not pictured; so, I can't see if it looks correct, or not;
2) The pictures are not of really high quality or detail, so that makes evaluation more difficult, too.
I would say that it would take a side-by-side comparison with an original pan to "tell-the-tale".
You are definitely right about the fact that it's WAY more correct than other pans showing up on eBay as "Corvette pans". I know the ones that you're talking about. Not only are they not even close to original configuration for any 63-74 Corvette small block, they aren't even close to correct for ANY other year Corvette small block----all the way from 1955 right through the present day. They are a generic, aftermarket pan and are not based upon ANY pan that Chevrolet EVER used for a Corvette or otherwise.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Ebay oil pan question
He posted on the C1/C2 discussion forum (not the "parts" forum) at CF the other day, with four large photos showing the bottom, side, inside, and close-up of the corner reinforcements; I scarfed the photos, and they look awfully good to me.- Top
