This bring up a subject of mine that has become a (pet pea) with me. I and a many others at the start of NCRS we're always talking about logo's first and second designs, early and late parts and so on before repro's hit the hobby. Now we also talk about the differences of original and repro parts. But each year our comments become less important for a couple of reasons.
1 It's easier to buy repro's then search for the original parts
2 To many Corvette now have been restored with repro parts causing a confusion among people
3 To many Corvette are being restored and looking generic (like their all the same now)
4 To many are built up to get an award and sell quick.
In the larger pic I don't see a future for the real original Corvettes, there will be a few like myself holding out or some Corvettes in a museum.
I don't see younger guys coming along (and no fault of their own ) to disciple real from un-real Corvettes. To many Corvettes are going Mod or Bogus .
So it comes back to NCRS that should know about the engine numbers, trim codes, dates, stampings and so on. But the design and look of the original parts is another thing -like logos, first and second design , GM replacement parts ,color and so on!
That is where I'm at to day trying to show ( how the original parts (look) )compared to repro's and design. I'm in to C1's. Adding pic in the JG along the lines I'm talking about may stay off all Corvettes becoming questable as time goes on.
I keep a pic file on C1's
BUUUUT that only my lonely 2cents.
