If it's a 65, I assume either the article text is incorrect, or he added the 427 in place of the original motor?

He at one time owned Green Valley drag strip in Dallas TX., He later owned Amarillo dragway. I heard thur the runor mill he had passed on and Amarillo drawway was sold. I had those cars at Albuquerque Dragway in the late 60's. I dont remember excactly when, but think I have a press release around here from Bardahl(sic)chemicals. He was know then as "Mr. Bardhal(sic)" Dale

                        Clue me in!

How can you tell a 65 from a 66 with only a side photo. The "gills" are 65/66 but there aren't any other identifying marks, are there? I owned a 66 for almost 10 years and all I can say is that I see either a 65 or a 66.

With the view shown and the car being a convertible, I don't know how you'd ever tell apart a 65 from a 66. Some of the usual subtle clues aren't visible in this photo.
