The spin-on style filter someone had installed has been removed and I'm ready to install the correct style oil filter adapter. Is there supposed to be a gasket between the adapter and the block or does it bolt up bare? Member input is most appreciated, as always. Thank you.
Actually, 1967-only did use a gasket between the adapter and the block. No earlier year Corvette did, though, and somehow they all survived alright. All the other parts were the same. Anyway, the gasket was GM #3903322. It was discontinued years ago without supercession. I don't know if it's reproduced, or not. I don't think that it would be too hard to make from gasket stock, assuming that you choose to use it.
