    Starter wiring question

    Getting ready to install the motor back in my shark and noticed that my son didn't mark where he got the wires from that connect to the starter.can anyone help me out with this? And yes he is NOT helping me anymore..Thanks

    That is not that big a deal Ken. If your boy is willing to help and has an interest in these ole plugs please encourage him to do so. Rob

      Ken, I agree that you should encourage your son to help. Most kids today just want to play PC games. My son included. Just look at your wiring diaphragm in your shop manual or get one on line or from the catalogs. NO big deal. Lectric limited has them as well as many others. John

        It's fairly intuitive. Except for the black wire from the harness, the large diameter terminals all go to the large lug on the solenoid.

        The other 2 terminals on the solenoid are the "R" and "S" terminals. The purple wire goes to the "S" terminal and the other wire (yellow) goes to the "R" terminal.

        Last, the black wire with the large diameter terminal goes to the outboard starter mounting bolt.

          In the shark years the black wire with the large hole I have seen on a bellhousing bolt with the automatic transmission tube bracket. Keep that son in the garage no matter what happens you both will benifit.
