Is a dual quad intake for a 57 going to be dated?

I am trying to purchase a dual quad set-up for my 57 270 horse dual quad car that is under complete nut and bolt body off restoration. It is very important to me that all of my dates coincide with one another. I have the original engine rebuilt, and am looking to find the carbs and intake.

Can someone please educate me on what I should look for #'s wise? I have the NCRS Corvette Spec Guide and understand what the actual intake # should be. I have heard that there is an early version vs. a late production version and the changes are noticeable? Also... should there be a complete date on the underside of this intake, like there is under a 67 tri-power intake. I found one on ebay... but the guy said the date under the oil shield reads 10-25...NO YEAR NUMBER.... should there be a year also?

    thanks in advance,

Re: Is a dual quad intake for a 57 going to be dat

Jacob, Typically most all the 57 intakes cast by Winters Foundry were dated. Notice I said most. Sometimes on the early FI 193 base plates someone forgot to do his job and left the date off. I would say that every dual four intake I have ever seen has been dated where the hot oil hits it. THe rivited on pan though may be hiding the date. John
