    1962 Radiator

Did all Harrison radiators have the serial number stamped into the radiator? Does the word Harrison appear anywhere on the radiator? If the metal tag has model number and date, is the model number also stamped directly into the radiator? I have a chance to buy a so called original radiator for my March car that only has the model number stamped into the radiator, no date. Could I install a metal tag to make this radiator correct for my car?

    Thanks alot.

    Deb -

I don't think I'd spend a lot of money for an original '62 radiator, if indeed it's "original" - it's LONG past its service life, and is not repairable when it starts to leak.

Deb, Believe I would contact DeWitts, who...

...beautifly reproduce 1962 radiators. They can answer your questions and also give you a quote on a new radiator. I don't mind buying used parts, but old radiators are something I avoid since a new part is available.

Deb, if you did put a metal tag on it, it likely wouldn't receive full credit in judging. By that point in 62 production, the foil tag was put on the radiators and the date was stamped on the left side near the part number.

          Dennis, John, and Deb------

I TOTALLY agree! Buying a used radiator like this is a "crap shoot" and you'll likely come up "crapping out". Even if the radiator has no leaks now, how long will it be before it starts leaking and becomes useless?

DeWitts is the ONLY way to go. Thank God that there is a DeWitts!
