Serial Numbers on Firewall?

A thread today regarding a hole below Wiper Grill on a 67 has a picture of the hole and a sequence of numbers below it. Have I been missing these numbers for all these years?

There are no serial numbers on the firewall. The numbers which you mention, which appear very faint in the picture, look like an embossed part number. Most likely, this would have been the part number for the firewall panel that they are embossed on. It would not be unusual that other cars might have the panel part number embossed in some other location on the panel or that there might be no visible part number on some cars, at all.

On a 1st Generation Camaro you'll find the car's serial # stamped on the firewall behind the heater box.

Am working on my first 67--a May car--saw those numbers on my firewall, in that location, (somewhat sharper/clearer than the ones pictured) and wondered if that panel had been replaced at some point. There was absolutely no repair work done anywhere close to there, so I was relieved to conclude that it is original, and confirmed by you guys!
