    65 convertible windshield trim Question

For the exterior windshield side moldings top corners. The AIM, F22 Page E88 shows, there is a fastener/spacer at each top outer corner, along with a retainer. Can someone explain how they work together/their function? Thanks DG

There is a clip that goes on the trim piece. There is a spacer that looks like a cutoff piece of pipe that the screw goes through from the underside. Is that what you are talking about?

excellent description---the screw s/b retained in the spacer / cup with a paper retainer---use a sheetmetal screw magnetic driver to install---this will help from loosing it in the upper frame---fit check the molding first and mark where the clip needs to be before final installation---the corner clip and attaching machine screw and cup can be bought from lic---good luck, phil

LICS carries this clip but a pain to order for me this week. No online, short hours, bad reputation. I called Paragon tonight and talked to a tech guy. Their catalog shows the clip and spacer but no part number is given for this clip. He claimed at first this clip is the same clip used in exterior header stainless. So, I asked how does this spacer work with that clip. He didn't know, but will call me tomorrow. I would rather stick with Paragon if they can get that clip. Thanks for the help. This is again one of those parts long gone before I bought this project car. DG

It is not the same as the top center clips. They use a pal or speed nut. The end ones are different.
