    Re: Route 66

John, are you making a list of names of folks that have expressed an interest in participating in your road trip? If so, please add me to the list.
    Best regards,

      Joe--
You must really know some shortcuts to get from Chicago to LA in 1500 miles!

          Re: Route 66

          Joe,
I will try to email Bill and discuss this with him. The original Northeast Road Tour planning was done by Elaine Renner and lead by Jim Romano. I spoke to them at Corvettes at Carlisle this past August about revisiting the Route 66 trip. Now when we did this for the Montery National Convention, we went through Cambridge, Ohio to Indy to St. Louis to Okla. City to Tucumcari, NM to Holbrook, AZ to Kingman, AZ to San Simeon, CA to San Fran to Rohnert, CA to Montery, CA. Now this was 8 days and well worth the extra time. we got to see a lot of the historical Route 66 location. If you have a chance to read the Restorer article I wrote in the Fall 2002 issue it will give more of the details.

Ever Heard of the Theory of Relativity?

My Corvette goes so fast, that time and distance have no meaning! Full ahead Sulu, warp factor 10!

Actually, I meant to say "almost 2500 miles". Good catch, Mike.

              Don't Tell Him It's 1500 Miles, Though

See my reply to Mike E, above. I spoke to Elaine, and company over "more than a few drinks", at Marlboro Regional. If anybody can make it happen again, it's Elaine and the Northeast Gang.
I have a feeling that it will........it's an ideal situation for a National Road Trip. The more people involved and interested, the better. I hope that John O. will join us in '09 for a return trip.
