Re: 69 am fm radio convector

Figure the convector is simply a DS-501 audio drive transistor mounted on a heat sink with interconnect cable for the non-stereo AM/FM radio. The going rate for a replacement (non-Delco) DS-501 transistor is $25. That's your 'shadow cost' value if you already have an operable convector.

For those who've bought 'half' of a radio (just the chassis without the external convector), the value is considerably more. They're getting the original heat sink and interconnect cabling their radio is missing to complete it and make it operable.

So, expect to encounter a mixed bidding audience for a standalone convector. Some are willing to pay very little (heck, how do you know the DS-501 on the used convector is actually good?) and others (those with half of a radio) who'll bid the item up substantially.
