Re: Off Subject - Tool Box Suggestions
No, Dick, what I said was that you couldn't fill a four inch drawer with sockets standing up as the weight would be too much. All I see is red X's on your notes, but I bet you don't have those drawers filled completely with four inch long deepwell sockets.
The tool chest manufacturers usually specify a weight limit, however, it isn't highlighted as they don't want you comparing brand X to brand Y. The Sears web site does not list it, but I believe the catalog does. There is usually a drawer rating and a box rating. The box rating is based on the box design and the casters. Sears typical 26 inch wide roll-arounds are usually rated at 500 lbs and 750 lbs, although some are rated to 1000 lbs now.
Usually this rating is much under-rated, but still, you would be exceeding them. A 4 inch drawer filled with deepwell sockets would probably weigh close to 100 lbs. If you are only putting in one row of deepwells, and the rest standards, then you are wasting a lot of volume.
