Has anyone heard of a '63 vin tag not having the "S" in it.This is a car that I have know for 20+ years. The car itself is nothing special,a 250hp matching# roadster in older driver condition. The tag has the spot welds as you would expect. But the number 30867 xxxxxx no "S".The title which has the correct vin including the "S".

Re: '63 vin tag question
Not common but not impossible either. I've seen a lot of VIN tags with errors. Never seen one with the S missing but it's certainly possible.- Top

Re: '63 vin tag question
That refers to the trim tag - St. Louis-bodied Corvettes didn't have an "S" prefixed to the body number until A.O. Smith started providing bodies in January, 1964. VIN plates always had an "S" between the style/year and sequence number characters (except for this one ).- Top
