    '66 firewall grommets

Working on a 390hp with A/C, AIM shows speedo cable going thru the firewall above the clutch rod, where I usually see a plug. I thought the tach and speedo cables went thru together. AIM shows on page 230 for a '66. What is right? The AIM also shows the cable going into the trans on the drivers side, my tail shaft has speedo input on the pass. side. Does the cable go under or over the trans?

    Thanks

Jeremy, in the 67 AIM the same as you describe is shown for a 3 speed. If you look at the section for an M20,21 etc you'l notice that the routing is different, speedo and tach together and running down the passenger side of trans with a plug (item 2) in the hole provided for the 3 speed. I hope the 66 AIM is the same

      Jeremy,

As Steve said they go thru a single 2 hole grommet. In my 66 AIM manual it is shown M20 A4 pg 352.

Also see C60 E5 for the AC 4 hole grommet. Both are a joy to install
