    Tony--

I can't believe that anything as easy to replace as a top canvas would greatly affect the value of the vehicle. As far as flight judging, they don't look at the documentation anyway. go for whatever color you'd like. Have you considered the blue top? My favorite w. the Lynndale blue.

Tony, I think that you have to consider what you really want from this car. Are you looking to restore the car to a "trailer queen" status or are you going to drive this car on a regular basis. I think the car you have is really great, there aren't many original corvettes left out there, so I would say go with the original color. From what you say, the car is all there, now you have to make a decision. It is your car and whatever makes you happy is what you should do. Chuck #30640 SMcgettric@AOL.com

You have to do what makes you happy, but I have a friend that just finished a '67 435 hp convertible. It also is lyndale blue, but it has a white stinger and white interior. This car in my opinion is stunning with the white convertible top. I know that you might say that it should be with the other white accessories. But honestly, from across the show field when you could not tell the color of the stinger or interior, the white top really stood out. Just my thoughts!

You have been given solid advice by others.

          (1) Don't concern yourself with 'value'. This can only be assessed

today and you're not sellling the car today. Nobody knows what

          the future will bring.

          (2) You're the owner -- you're the boss! It's your asset, and you

should do with it as you please.

          (3) NCRS discourages the addition/deletion of options, but with the

softtop we have a 'sticky' point. Color selection was a no

charge item and only holders of original build sheets can really

know what color the soft top's fabric should be. On the judging

field, folks will look for the color to be within the range of

          what was available that year.

          (4) Personally, if I had all the data you do on this car, I'd make

the restoration fit just for the fun of it! You're in a class

few others can really enjoy -- mid-year, BB, convertible with

          super option compliment AND doco.

          (5) Soft top isn't that expensive (couple of hundred dollars if

you install). Why not split the difference. Put the original

color on for restoration/campaign. Know that if you keep and

drive the car after it's campaign, you'll eventually wear out

and replace the soft top. Then, put what you like after you've

had some time "in saddle" with the original.....
