Growing up in a small town in western OK there was a man that lived near the high school and the road in front of his house was route 66 that went through Clinton,OK before they built I-40 south of the city. He owned a 53 or 54 white Corvette that rarely was taken out of his garage. I did look at it one day in early 60's when it was out with the hood up. His Corvette was unrestored and in excellent condition, like brand new. One day saw the car go down 66 in later years. The owner had a little Nash Metroplolitan convertible that was his daily driver. A stablemate to the Corvette was a white 58 Thunderbird that like the Corvette I never saw on the street. I could see them both in the garage if the garage door was up, or rarely out of the garage in the driveway. His garage was unattached to the house and in the back yard. I left Clinton in 1966 for military service. Found out many years later the man died and the Corvette and Thunderbird were sold at the auction. Anyone know of anyone that bought the 53-54 Corvette? The auction may have been in the 1980's.
