    70 C3 suspension fastener suppliers?

    Ive come to the conclusion that it may be a good idea just to replace all the suspension fasteners instead of reusing the old ones which were severely rusted.

    Ive seen them in several of the catalogs but it isnt clear as to how close they are to original.

    Can anyone recommend a supplier that can provide them as close to original as possible?

      Paragon is the primary source of most Corvette reproduction fastners. Many of their fastners are exact reproductions and some are "close". However, they're about as good as you're going to get if you insist on period-correct headmarkings as well as other features of original fastner configuration.

      Richard Fortier, the former owner of Paragon and the "force" behind Paragon's early involvement with reproduction fastners, has fairly recently started a new, small Corvette restoration parts company. What's he going to specialize in? Why, fastners, of course! He now has some reproductions of fastners that are not otherwise reporduced and, from what I understand, more are in the works. I believe that he may also have a lot of NOS fastners available. I think that he had an advertisement in the last Driveline (or, one of the other Corvette publications out there).

      I DEFINITELY agree that it's NOT a wise move to re-use damaged or questionable original fastners for ANY high strength application which has any safety implications, at all. In fact, I would not use them for any high strength application even if there were no safety implication (I don't like things to FAIL on a car, even if my life is not on the line if they do).

      If a bolt suffers from ANY corrosion which has proceeeded to the point of causing pitting, even the slightest pitting, in my book it's damaged to the "point of no return".
