    C2 U Joint Best " look a like"

    For a C2 March 64

Need to replace 1/2 and drive shaft U Joints for judging, ie no grease fittings.
Is anyone making "look a like" - old GM's?

Relative to points, does one exist which only takes a minor hit or are all bad?

    Thanks
    Alan

    Alan,

I believe that the Federal Mogual Precision Brand P/N 231 are the ones that you want.

The 231's work in the half shafts.

The drive shaft u-joint is a different size with an indentation about the size of a quarter. Haven't seen any aftermarket like them...

As close as possible to this original '64 U-joint

On half shafts from a January '64 car (removed and stored since about 1968). numbers are 3705377 and GM 59 B.

Click this link for view of outboard side. I think the rough cast number is 4118.

          Alan-----

As far as appearance goes, the Federal-Mogul joints are the closest.

However, I use only Spicer joints. Most original Corvette u-joints were manufactured by Spicer. Although their configuration has changed, the actual quality of the Spicer joints has improved and they were always the standard.
