    69 side pipe exhaust option

How can you tell an original side pipe car from one that was added after, assuming original equipment is used? Are there any frame differences, manifold etc?
    Thanks

Re: 69 side pipe exhaust option

Original side pipe cars have a completely different rear quarter panel.

Under the car exhaust cars have "half" of the cutout for the tail pipe molded into the quarter panel. The other half is in the valence panel.

Original side pipe cars use a quarter panel without the "half" cutout.

SO, look underneath. See if something's been patched in.

There are also other clues, like insulation along the side frame rails, etc. Chuck

Don't know the month of production of your car, but it is generally accepted that the sidepipe option was introduced about mid December 1968
