TI Specialties in IN. His Ad in all the mags, NCRS Driveline, etc. Tough repair in that the one wire has a green stripe. Also the two wires are fused together like a lamp cord. Daver Feidler is the owner of TI Spec. Sure someone here can provide his email easily. John

Try www.wiringharness.com and page 37 of their on line catalog for Corvettes.

        Re: TI wiring availibility

Howard, I don't believe anyone actually makes this harness as it is not really a harness per say in that the wires are attached to the coil. Doubt if M&H or Lectric Limited or anyone else has this item. It's not typically a serivable part. But as I said before maybe Dave from TI Specialties can help you. Or maybe someone on the DB has a burnt out original coil assembly that you could savage for just the wires. The original OEM assembly had a lamp cord type wire. Two wires fused together. The replacements have two separate wires that are somewhat held together with a bit of tape. Dave always told me to stay away from that pole piece as they are trouble. Good luck, John

those pickup coils use a special wire that

will take the bending back and forth with the movement of the vacuum advance without breaking. i have fixed a few that were used in race car with out the vacuum advance with regular wire back in the old days. the newer HEI also uses the same kind of flexible wire because of the vacuum advance so find a old HEI and solder the wires on and use shrink wrap tubing for the insulation. not NCRS correct but it works

HI Clem, I enjoyed lunch with you the utter day. It was a lot of fun. Although it was hard to get a word in.Meanwhile that lamp cord to fix the TI pickup is almost impossible to find. Best way is to just replace the part with a NOS one and get it over with. Or do your method if you just want the car to run. One time Clem I bought a new 66 BB from your buddy Sam Grabiak and the car broke down when it was 6 weeks old. TI box went out. After that it was like AMX. I never left home without an extra TI box just in case. Never trusted that TI stuff. Had reason it think that. Had another BB TI car and it to ate a TI Box. Luckily today TI specilites has some updated stuff that is more reliable. Merry Christmas, John

the CCWP group was making its annual trip to

myrtle beach in 1966 when bill dickensons new 66 427 would not restart at "south of the border" after getting gas. i had a spare box with me but i did not want to give it up,in case i needed it, so i called back to PA. to another corvette owner who was coming down and told him to stop by my place and pick up another box.good thing i was fixing those boxes back then and i had a supply of them for quick turn around. i stll have the "box" tester i built back then. the outside ground wire to the box would get loose and cause a high resistance contact and cause the problem. i would tell the owners to use a longer bolt with a nut and lock washer on the back side of the box and then install the box on the panel and that way the ground would not come loose. water getting into the box was also a big problem because back then owners drove their corvettes in the rain.

if anyone is interested you can use the TI "box"

with points distributor by just installing some wire wound resistors in the wiring circuit. this way there a low amperage draw on the points. you need to use the TI coil also.
