I will be replacing my fuel tank in the 62 over the weekend. Can anyone give me an estimated amount of time it will take. I certainly have no plans of interupting my wifes holiday schedule! The tank came with the flange corners aready bent as well as in the areas where the straps would be positioned. I have changed many fuel tanks in the past, but never a C1. Thanks in advance! Jon

Re: C1 tank replacement
I could probally do it inside of 2 hours. "IF" noting is badly rusted or the tank strap bolts do not break. Spray the tank strap bolts and fuel fittings down with wd 40 or ? the night before.- Top

Jon, If you haven't seen the below thread about tank replacement, you might want to look this thread over before you begin.

Re: C1 tank replacement
As with any project it usually takes longer than expected. I'd say give yourself about four hours and as stated earlier, hope nothing is rusted up. Might as well replace vent tube and clamps while you got it apart. Also good time to put that dedicated ground wire to the sending unit so it will read accurately.

Re: C1 tank replacement
Thanks everone! I have found eight hours over the next two days. I hope everything goes well. If not, it will have to be put on hold til the first weekend after the the new year. Family first!
I will be replacing all rubber and installing the addition ground. I'm a little worried about the bolts. They don't appear rusted, but that is only because of bubba's undercoat and paint detailing. Wetting them down with liquid wrench and WD-40 appears to have down little. Time will reveal all answers and I'm sure something will go wrong as usual. If I decide to put it off to later, maybe Santa and his elves will get er done.
Thanks again! May youyr holidays be blessed, Jon- Top
