    Tire Chain in a Can

I'm surprised Roy hasn't mentioned this, or isn't bidding.

    ebay 140049839447

On second thought, Roy is too smart to pay this price.

Yeah, almost forgot about muffler bearings, but I did get a new clabber gear for my birthday. And I am putting "winter air" in my tires this week.

You laugh, but I have seen muffler bearings advertised on ebay before. None right now, but they have been there.

                  Re: How do the cans...

They don't - they were part of RPO V75 "Traction Compound Dispenser" on some of the steel-bodied cars; Fisher body drilled holes and attached the housings to the rear wheelhouse inner panels in the trunk and ran a vacuum hose forward to the instrument panel, where Chevrolet installed a button to the left of the steering column and ran a vacuum line to the intake manifold from there. The customer inserted the pressurized cans in the housings, attached the cap, and when the button was pushed, a diaphragm in the cap pushed on the bottom of the can, which sprayed the sticky goop through the holes on the rear tires. The cans in the auction are item #2 in the illustration below.

It was offered on the Camaro in 1969, and out of about 375,000 Camaros built, less than 40 were built with V75; not one of the greatest options ever dreamed up, and it didn't work for squat anyway.

                        John,
I often wondered what my brother-in-law did as an mechanical engineer for GM. Now I know!! God bless him for my GM employee discount.

                        Merry Christmas,
                        Rick
