    61 fuel sender

I just replaced the fuel sender because the guage went to over full when the key was turned on - apparrently the sender was burned out. Now the guage moves off empty a little bit but I do'nt think it is close to accurate. Does one generally have to bend the float arm til it sends correctly or should it just work out of the box? Thanks.(just thinking if I had any brains I would have compared the new to old float arm angle)

Should have worked out of the box. Did you add the extra ground?

I haven't put an extra ground on. I'll give that a try first. I don't suppose there is a convenant spot on the frame close by that doesn't require drilling or messing around? Maybe the top backing plates is a good spot?

        Richard -

Run the wire alongside the fuel feed line down through the hole in the underbody, and there's a main fuel line clip there on the frame that's a convenient grounding point.
