When it comes to electrical I am kinda in the dark. I was about to connect my starter wires and noticed that they seem very weak.So I figured that I should just replace the harness. The questions I have are...Is this concidered the ignition harness and if so what is seat belt inter lock and how do I know if my car has it?Sorry if these seem like stupid questions. I'm kinda learning as I go along..Thanks and Merry Christmas

Re: wiring harness question
Ken, yes the harness would called be either ignition or engine harness. The Feds mandated the seatbelt/ignition interlock system for 74 & 75 that meant the car couldn't be started until the driver's seatbelt was fastened. But I think it was dropped sometime in 75. I work through a relay that would close when the seat belt was fastened. I don't have a 74/75 so I cant give you specific about the wiring of the system. I sure someone else with more knowledge of these system will jumping. If you plan to do much work on the car I would suggest you get a wiring diagram so you can troubleshoot any future problems. Maybe Santa will get you oneBob- Top
