    C2 exhaust system

I just received an aluminized exhaust system for a 67 L79 from Allen's Corvette Exhaust. The transition from 2in to 2 1/2in at the manifold is welded. Does anyone make a system with the correct transition?

    Thank you.

      Randy-----

Later GM SERVICE forward pipes as well as some later PRODUCTION forward pipes for the 2"-to-2-1/2" applications were welded, too.

Anyway, the original pipes were die-formed and that's really the only practical way to manufacture the original style swaged pipes. As Bill mentioned, I don't think that any manufacturer today uses die-forming to produce the pipes for older SERVICE applications. The tooling to do it is just too expensive to possibly justify or amortize.

So, if you want original configuration, about your only option is NOS. In that case, what you're looking for is GM #3877209, left side, and GM #3877210, right side.

        Joe,
I have a 67 L79 with side exhaust and the numbers stamped in the left pipe is 3877215 and the right pipe is 3877216. Both also have a W stamped in them and John Hinckley informed me that the W was for Walker Manufacturing, who made the pipes for GM. My question is, are these the correct numbers for the side exhaust?
        Thanks,
        Rick

Those are absolutely the correct numbers for your application.
