I have 69 and I'm reinstalling the ti after 25 years of points. I got a rebuilt distributor from Crane but the harnass and the amp are original and haven't been used in 25 years. The system did run the car 25 years ago but it had a bad miss at high speed so I put points in and fixed the problem. I hooked the fat resistor tan wire from the original ti wiring harnass to the + side of the new ti coil I bought. I hooked the black smaller wire to the minus side. Got no spark. I have 8 volts to ground on the plus side when I crank the engine. Are there any troubleshooting guides around? I repair electrical stuff for a living but I need a guide since I don't understand the system and how to isolate the problem.
