C2 1966 Interior Rear Qtr Panels

I purchased new rear qtr panels for the car. The original panels had a clip that allowed the panel to be attached to the Halo. This stops the halo from vibrating and making noise. It also keeps the panels from flopping around and tight against the side of the car. The new panels do not have the clips nor do they have a provision for attaching the clips. The original clips were riveted to the cardboard backing. How is all this installed using the repro panels ?? I guess I could epoxy the clips to the panel, I am just looking for the correct way to do it. I dont see how you could install rivets without tearing the vinyl covering.
