    just thinking

I was siting here thinking how lonely I'll be now that my 67 is gone ( liked reading C2 info) and now the only thing in common with NCRS or this forum is my old 55 C1 ,which only a hand full of members might own ,then how many members care about a new C6 I just got. Few people to talk with on the 55 and now need to meet C6 guys to BS with. Hellooooo Corvette forum.com Well life moves on !!

    Are you kidding!

Hell, Roy; at every California Corvette meet there are more C5's & C6's than anything else. Even at the so called '53 to '73 Corvette meet in Folsom, Ca. recently the damn C5's & C6's still had to show up and hang out nearby. For crying out loud, near the end of the days meet, a few of these new car owners still had to wiggle their way into the meet and park with the older 'vettes.

You got nothing to worry about, you'll meet many new Corvette owners. Heck why don't you plan to attend Yagers shindig, or the NCM Corvette homecoming event, either one will have more of these newer 'vettes than you can probably stand.

      Re: just thinking

Roy, Just think now you can share dealer accesories with us that we can still buy. Now anything between 53 and 06 is fair game. Maybe an 8 track tape head cleaner or a cool CB mike case or something.... Eric

          Re: Are you kidding!

          Hey Roy,

Warren is right! This past year at FunFest in Effingham there were over 14000 Corvettes and probably at least 10000 of them were C5s or C6s. I'm sure some of those youngens would love to hear some of the war stories with the 67. Good luck.

I Had A Feeling You Were...

Going native on us. Only kidding you, Roy. You are mourning the loss of your 67, and you're seeking distraction to fill the memories...it's natural.

When you enjoy two things, it doesn't mean you have to choose one over the other. I spend a lot of time over on CF, as I do here, trying to help people...my training, work experience, and interests suit me to that pursuit.

I love the C6, as I love the old cars, and I like reading people's experiences with all Corvettes. But, I know the people here are my family. I've met them, judged with them, attended seminars and tech sessions with them, traded jibes with them and I have a deep appreciation for their Corvette knowledge. There may be those kind of relationships over on CF, but I haven't seen it generally.

Here on the NCRS Tech Board, I can't remember being deliberately insulted or gotten genuinely cross-ways with anyone...maybe I'm too old to hold grudges anymore and my memory is a lot shorter. Dennis gives you a hard time about your dealer options sometimes, but it's really good-natured.

On CF, you'll run into a much broader segment of the internet, and that's about all you'll have in common with them beyond owning a C6. Some are only interested in what they can do to make their car faster, fancier, louder, etc. Others are just putting on a Corvette suit for a year or two, and then they're off to the next automotive adventure, probably foreign, and always expensive. There are some nice guys that are sold-out Corvette guys, and there's some SOBs, and there are some that I suspect are too young or inexperienced to even own a car.

When you get insulted over there, it'll have a hard edge from my observation. If you try to step in to assist the weak or the ignorant, the pack can turn on you. I saw it today; that vicious behavior is unexplainable unless there some history between the individuals. Don't be illustioned with their humanity if it happens...just add them to your ignore list. JMHO.

                Re: I Had A Feeling You Were...Chuck

Man! how can I add to that, no I'm not giving up on this forum ,I'll look in to the CF also , as fare as people and their cars I've heard it all and met them all on both sides of the hobby ,it don't bother me ,never did, don't take no one serous because it don't matter.Dennis! he's a good guy known him for many years, some people don't like me, so what , as they say cant please every one.I like honesty no BS never tried to impress any one .%99 of car people are good people rich or poor. That's what draws me to car people and the car hobby when you meet a real car person nothing els matters when talking cars.

the CF had enough sense to throw me off

because i pointed out that a item a sponsor was selling was available FREE from your GM dealer. it also was a item that i came up with 12 months before GM did. i showed the engineers at bowling green my fix on the 05 C-6 and a year later they came out with the same fix. guess i should have hired a patent attorney

They Threw You Off For THAT??!!!...

Let's see; You were the inventor, GM and other vendors copied your idea for free, and you got tossed for revealing that GM was passing them out for free? Ah, don't think about it twice, Clem; it's CF's loss. Talk with Geoffrey Coenen...I understand he has a lawyer that knows how to deal with such matters.

Yeaup, you don't want to lay a finger on the golden ho' that lays the eggs over there...you'll be explaining why yer hand is missing.
