Can anyone point me in the direction of a good procedure to install new correct ball joint rivets (both upper and lower), I know where to get them but not how to properly install them. Any help would be greatly apprecited.

Re: Ball joint rivets
Robert,
The best advice I can give you right now is to search the archives for ball joint rivets with my name in the search title. I just went through what you are about to so you will probably find the info that you need there.
If you have any further questions though after your search feel free to ask.- Top

Special tooling is required to install the rivets. In general, the acquisition of such tooling is not off-set by the cost of just having someone with the tooling and experience do it for you. Unless, of course, you plan to do a LOT of these. However, if you're like most folks who will only do this once or twice in your life, it's much more cost effective to send them out. Among others, Bair's in Lineville, PA and Van Steel in Clearwater, FL can perform this task for you.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I took the easy way out and sent mine to Bairs, they have the tooling and do a LOT of them so the guy who does it gets a lot of practice.Bill Clupper #618- Top
