C2 Final pic for our article, Bob

Just stripped off the masking and cleaned up the chrome. Picture #17 in the article text I sent you.

Might be a while before we see it again, but I'm sure we all will.

My original 67 Glove Box door with rivets intact.

Jerry....your glove box looks NOS! This is a tribute to your efforts, and will be appreciated by a host of NCRS Members that prefer to use their existing, original-to-their-car but too beat up door, to delve into an easy restoration of a much valued part. Your description and photos were superb, and you substantiated your efforts with a real-deal result!

I can understand why some cannot wait for the publication - how many doors do we believe have been butchered by drilling out the backside original fasterners? End of an era hopefully, thanks to your efforts.

Years ago a former NCRS member and still close friend told me about this procedure....it worked for him, and I conveyed it to another close friend who later contacted me about his successful results. It was not until several years later that I decided to actually attempt the installation, demonstrating for the first time at a Carolinas Nuts and Bolts NCRS Meet. Even then, the untested results were only partially successful, with the biggest problem being the hidden burrs on the underside of the door (of which you have addressed in detail), marring the insert during the slide-in operation. But, the message was there....it WOULD work with a bit of perseverance - we all owe you on this one, and thank you for a job wel done!

        Jerry,

What paint did you use for the black?
