    1970 AC Compressor

What is the oil capacity of the AC Compressor on a 1970? Everyone have a healthy 2007.
    Thanks, Michael

    Michael-----

The complete system capacity is 11 oz of oil. This is the amount required to fill a "dry" system. The capacity of the compressor is about 6 oz.

The Chassis Service Manual backs Joe Lucia's answer. It says to check the level by pulling the compressor from a running system, drain and measure. If 4 oz or more, you're OK. If less than 4 oz, refill with 6 oz. Capacity for other system components:

        3 oz Evaporator
        1 oz Condenser
        1 oz Receiver-Dryer

Making the system capacity be 11 oz, just as Joe said.
