Getting ready to purchase a battery from restoration battrery in Cincinnati,Ohio. it is for my 1963 corv. conv. # 12921 . Question is yellow caps with black lettering or black caps with yellow lettering ? Car was built in the 3rd. week of april 1963. thanks

Nancy, My 63 is about almost 10,000 and has the black caps with yellow lettering. If you give your serial number to Tom Kobman of Resto Battery he will tell you the same thing. It's also covered in our judging manual. Buy the sealed battery. You will lose about 8 points on it as it is not a real tar top. Some one though is taking this particular battery and doing some minor surgery to it and making it into a tar top that is fooling most of the judges but not all. My 63 though has an old original tar top that got full credit at Marlborough although it doesn't have much pep. Good enough for a trailer queen though. Some day when I drive it a lot I will just buy a new Delco Battery from AC and forget about it. WIth those you lose 50% of the points. Good luck, John
