Assume your talking about dust shields. These are mild carbon steel, not stainless.

Joe, They were painted black also. Most of the repros are SS though. I watched out judges using a magnet on them. The boys would be lost without there magnets wouldn't they. I think they should outlaw maggets at the show. John

THANKS FOR THE UPDATE, I lost points at the boston show because my judge wrote that the staples were magnatized and therefore incorrect, when actually they are supposed to be magnetic. I wanted to at least verify what I had thought was correct.

Joe, You lost me on that one. You say your staples are magnatized? I thought that the staples came either in SS or piano wire. Never heard of magnetized ones. Which day was your car judged? Fri or Sat. John

yes, they are magnetic which when the judges put the magnet on them they think that its correct- actually the staples are magnetized stainless steel- easier to put in and they do not rust. you can get them from Long Island corvette supply. I was judged on Friday.

Joe, My car was judged on Sat. Anyhow I had no complaints on the judging. Problem was that there were 16 cars in our class. I actually felt sorry for the judges and felt guilt that I was babysitting my car and not helping out. I remember you now. You came to the show with your family. Take care, John

I think that the bugs so to speak were worked out by Saturday. Like I said the problem on friday was that the lunch was a distance away- the judging teams for some reason didn't get started on friday until late, and if you were one of the unlucky ones to be in the second half judging you weren't done until late. I had the misfortune of being the last car judged. they were actually turning off the lights when the judges were still writing up my paperwork- so obviously if I had questions or such they really were trying to get out of there, and being human nature weren't really listening to my questions or objections. And truthfully I was there at 8 am and by 6 pm I was tired as well. It hurt my scoring but its only one show. I just think that there are plenty of people that were there that could have been used as judges but it just didn't happen. there should be more teams when you have 16 cars and try to judge 8 in one day. I'm glad you remember me. hopefully I will see you at another show. I hope I helped you out concerning those magnetic staples (hahaha). thanks for your help.
