    Terry,

I'll make sure that dam cloth is showing.

Now, how you gonna make it look any different than it already does? I can tell from the AIM that it's either gonna' be showin', or it ain't gonna' be showin'...You gonna' grab it with some needle nose puhlars and pull it down to make it visible?

You'll have newbies stickin' that dam to their windshield way down where it can be seen, when the General clearly never intended it to be seen

It'll be kind of like when we were painting those black primered wheels argent silver on the outside, and the judging manual said that there should be silver overspray on the backside. Well, we got to paintin' those wheels tryin' to get a healthy dose of silver overspray, an' we were sayin' to ourselves "Man, getting this overspray on the backside just like the judging manual sez ain't easy!", an' we were turning the gun this way and that way trying to get that silver through the holes. Then the light turned on: "Dude...yer overworkin' the problem here."

      Only ribbin' ya Doc...

I wonder if it functioned to control the depth of the windshield as it settled into the resting place. Any thoughts on this?? Terry

          Terry -

Not really - the depth of the windshield in the opening was controlled by the rubber spacer blocks; the dam's primary purpose was to contain "squeeze-out" of the adhesive.

Now I got it. But what held it in place?? And, was it always visible? Sounds like sometimes the sealent got past it. I have found those rubber blocks before and have saved a few here and there. Not sure where they are stashed. Would like to get a picture of what it looked like originally. I contacted a friend of mine that I think has some new un-used stuff. Not sure where he got it either. Sounds like a person could make it like pinch welt from sewn cloth and then slide it over a cotton cord, etc. I have a sewing machine Hmmmmm, Terry

              Terry -

The dam had a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the flat side with a peel-off liner.
