63-64 Judging Guide Question: Blower Capacitor

The 63/64 TIM&JG (4th Edition) in the section on Heater or Air Conditioning System (page 98) states:

"On radio equipped cars, a capacitor with an attachment tab is inserted under one of the screws that attach the motor."

I do not believe this is correct for early 63's equipped with the Wonderbar radio. The capacitor was a feature of the later AM/FM radio.

    Reference is the 63 AIM:

Section U65, Pages 6.00 and 7.00 do not show any blower capacitor.

Section U69, Page 7.00 shows the capacitor. The revision date for this page is " 3-28-63"

I would welcome input regarding this and hope that Mike Hanson and others keeping track of suggested revisions and corrections to the 63/64 Judging Guide will note as well.

Thanks Tom, got it. I agree, the blower condenser was to be added at the time of the release of the AM-FM option. Actually, there were several changes made to the parts and installation when the new U69 appeared in production. It's possible that these changes, and the blower condenser, may have appeared slightly ahead of the availability of the U69 but likely only a week or two at most.
