Re: 1963-64 Team Leader
Once again Roy, those who lack the knowlege of what it take to make this organization run scream the loudest!
I have been judging 63-4 Corvettes for 20 years with the current team leader and he is 1st on my request list for every event I attend.
Like you I have taken a long time to respond to this but sometimes you get very busy with what is at hand.
One thing we can't forget is the good friends we meet and keep because of NCRS!- Top

Re: 1963-64 Team Leader
Roy
I agree with you 100% that the team leaders devote a lot of time and thier own money to make this organiztion work..The other judges also devote thier own time and money. Having a car judged is a learning experience sometimes even for the judges..I appreciate all that everyone in this organiztion does to make it work. Thank you to all the judges and team leaders and master judes for all you do. And also all the administrators.. Tom- Top

Re: 1963-64 Team Leader
Roy - I don't think it's anyone's intent to bash Team Leaders on this public forum, and I agree that any comments that can be construed as personal attacks are uncalled for, but there are a good number of '63-'64 types who believe that there are some correctible deficiencies in the current JG. Over the years many have followed the rules and submitted comments. I, myself, personally delivered a letter to you at the '02 convention in Monterey with backup documents including a copy of a dealer service bulletin on ignition coil utilization, and that's the last I ever heard or saw of it.
Then the fourth edition gets released, and it appears that virtually no changes were incorporated despite many peoples' effort to improve the accuracy of the document.
If the JGs have suspected errors that are not addressed, it reflects negatively on the efficacy of the judging process, and we all want the judging process to be as accurate and credible as possible.
If the '63-'64 JG team needs help sorting this out, I and I'm sure others stand ready to assist in any way we can. But when you follow the rules, submit comments with backup documentation, then never get a response and a new edition is released with virtually no changes, it gets frustrating, and some have chosen to speak out, but their intent is strictly positive - improve the accuracy of the JG.

PS
I think the '63 model year represents a particular challenge due to the literally hundreds of running changes that occurred, which was typical of first year production for a new model in that era.
I expect that '68 represents a similar challenge.

Re: 1963-64 Team Leader
I will agree 100% that Carlton should NOT be put on the cross, as some people are trying to do. I've had the priviledge to work for him many times and will be glad to work for him anytime. He and every other person who takes part in the NCRS judging system give up there time and expense to do the best job possible. Great guy keep up the good work!!!!- Top

What a Wonderful (internet) World!
Hi all,
What a wonderful (internet) world!
Carlton Colclough- one of THE hardest working NCRS volunteers (and all-arounf GREAT guy) is being beat up on the NCRS membership website for his team's Tech Manual that he has dedicated hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of his own dollars in travel expenses.
All the while- the person constantly asking questions about Carlton's manual and receiving free advice concerning the restoration of a 1963-64 is NOT even a current NCRS member...
Oh the bittersweet irony!- Top
