C3 heater seal adhesive

I'm in the process of restoring everything under the dash of my 72. I bought all new seals for the heater and AC ducts and I'm ready to put everything back together. Several of the seals are made of a soft foam. What type of adhesive was originally used to attach these foam seals to the ducts and can it still be bought today? If not is there something that works just as well?

Typically, those who sell heater duct seal kits package them in die-cut, ready to install, form with PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) backing on the mounting side (peel away the backing to expose the adhesive and stick the foam in place). If your seal kit is simply raw die-cut foam, then you'll need to apply adhesive yourself. Any clear drying adhesive like 3M's carpet glue in a spray can will get the job done!

Thanks jack - yes, several of the seals had an adhesive backing which worked great but the others are die sut and have no adhesive. I'll try the carpet adhesive.
