    Jeremy,
In checking the 66 Judging Guide, no number is given for the bulb. Just mentions the cadmium or zinc plated metal shade attached over the bulb.

    Zip-products.com shows picture of bulb: part # L-333 @ $1.50
    CorvetteCentral.com shows bulb : at $1.75 (good picture in part #252102 - switch/bulb/terminal set)

At least for '65, it is an 1893, per the owners manual.

buy your bulbs from AC Delco as the last time i bought em(years ago), they were made in usa and the glass bulbs are firmly attached to the metal socket whereas the made in orient babies are inferior. mike

The 67 Owners Manual says 1893, but

Here's what I think is my original, on my 67:

Says GG 1816, has dark glass (or maybe it is aged that way). The hood is very tight to the bulb, either fused on or glued or soldered on. Would have to break the bulb to get it off. It still works after all these years.

Here's an update on my Glove Box project,
          Back on the car:

Inside has never looked so clean in near 40 years with a new liner:

And I masked and painted around the incorrect 66 Tire Pressure Decal on a 67. Wanted to preserve my 69 markings when I switched to Michelin X's.

          Oh, anomolies!

          Having fun,

            Jerry,
Looking good, before you know it, your car will look like it rolled off the showroom floor.

            Regards,
            Rick

              Jerry,

              LOOKING GOOD!!!

Thanks for all the information about the restoration with your posts and e-mails. After your last e-mail I got up enough nerve to start up the Dremel. I now have a large hole in the front of my original glovebox (Hey but I'm not worried, gulp). Waiting for the replacement front to arrive, should be here Monday or Tuesday. I hope I don't sober up before it gets here and realize what I did!!

Seriously Jerry, you've been a great help and motivator and I can't wait to see the finished product. I'll post some pictures also.

              Happy "Vettin"
              Shooter

P.S. You're right about the shield on the bulb being tight. On our 64 I was getting it ready for a show and broke 3 replacement bulbs putting the shield back on. BE CAREFUL AND HAVE SOME REPLACEMENTS ON HAND.
