I'm aware of how popular and valuable camaros are becoming....I saw on a show today that you can buy a complete, new body for a '69 camaro. I wonder if that's in the near future for corvettes.

Re: Camaro popularity....
I think the Camaro needs a donor in most cases. There are a lot more donor Camaros to work with than Corvettes. But I think both Camaro and Corvette frames are repoped it gets expensive though starting from scratch.

Re: Camaro popularity....
I saw an ad in Hemmings Muscle Machines (December, Issue 39) for a company the is reproducing '67 Corvette bodies called HiTek. hitekhotrods.com. There is a company in Niagara Falls, Ontario that is reproducing frames.

Re: Camaro popularity....
You can buy a complete body for a 69 Camaro convertible, 69 Camaro Coupe and a 1967 Camaro coupe. The parts are made offshore by/for and marketed by Dyanacorn. The bodies are currently assembled in the US on both coasts by 2 different builders. The bodies are sold with doors and trunklids hung. Word is the bodies will also be assembled offshore in the future.
You can also buy a 67-69 Camaro with a 4 generation unibody chassis under an original Camaro body. You furnish a donor 67-69 Camaro and they will cut it up and install a 4 gen Camaro unibody understruction. Bolt on 4 generation Camaro suspension and drivetrain. Makes for a neat car as the wheelbase of the 69 Camaro is 7 inches longer than a 4th gen Camaro so you get all sorts of back seat room. These conversions retain the cars original VIN since you start with a real Camaro. They are made in Utah and marketed by Goodmark Industries. These were introduced in November at SEMA.
A repo 67 Vette is also in the works. More than 1 company has sent a real 67 Corvette to China to tear apart and copy to make a reproduction. Look for birdcages and bodies in the near future.
Get our your checkbooks and build a repo car the way you want. Old Corvette body with new LS7, a 6 speed and complete C6 suspension that will be be all bolt on.
Sounds great to me!- Top

Re: Camaro popularity....
A show called Muscle Car on Spike TV built a 69 Camaro convertible completely out of repo parts. Started with one of those Dynacore bodies, then lots of parts from Year One. Turned out nice, but expensive.- Top
