Notice 2 different date formats
on these original wires off a '64 Olds hearse (the same one that "donated" the D-310 short tower F.I. distributor cap in an earlier thread).
Harry, you don't mention whether your pic is of repro wires or not, but notice the longer format on the top wire of these originals. 2 or more of the 8 were like this. Note the "GM" after the year.
I wonder if original '64 Corvettes also were subject to this variation of stamping format.

Re: Spark Plug Wire Logo '63 & '64
Harry....I have many '63/'64 NOS parts that I bought in '76, that are so far from the production line parts that were installed it makes me laugh. Guess I just wasted a lot of money. The good thing is they were a lot cheaper back then.- Top

Re: Spark Plug Wire Logo '63 & '64
There were several extruders producing the wires, which were then printed while on the return trip from the downstream end to the front end of the extruder. (one printer per extruder, as many as 5-8 in all. The legend was etched into a wheel which ran in a bath of white ink and picked up ink depositing same on the wire as it passed by. The length of the print should be the same, as all the wheels came from the same vendor, but if a printer messed up, the wire would be printed in a secondary operation offline with the possibility of a different wheel.Bill Clupper #618- Top
