Repro of the C2 power steering valve X cap?

Does anyone make a reproduction of the "X" cap that goes on the 1967 power steering valve, as shown in the photo below? The one on my car is missing.

It is my understanding that the passenger car cap was marked with a "C," and that only Corvettes had the "X," apparently because of some internal difference in the valve or the settings.

If I order a rebuilt power steering valve from Paragon or one of the other vendors, will it come with a correct X cap?

I don't know that Corvettes always used the "X"-marked power steering control valve cap. Vaguely, I recall that the stamping changed or disappeared sometime during the period of their use. Like, maybe, around 1973 or 1974. Anyway, earlier Corvettes did have the stamping and I believe that's what you're concerned with.

I don't know if the reproduction pieces carry the "X" stamping, or not. No matter, though. Just save your original cap and install it on the reproduction or rebuilt valve you buy. They are 100% interchangeable and yours looks to be in good shape.

The cap was missing on my valve when the car was purchased. The re-placement valve from Lonestar has the "C" stamped on it.

When was the valve purchased from Lonestar? I purchased my cap from them about one year ago.

Guys, If you want the X Cap from Lonestar you have to request it> The price is an additional $25 or $30.

They do not always have them in stock so keep trying back if not.

The only other usage of the linkage-boosted power steering system during the midyear era was the Chevy II; as I recall, the only difference between the Chevy II "C" end cap control valve and the Corvette "X" end cap valve was the internal centering spring (which determined when power assist was supplied to the power cylinder). The Chevy II had a 30# spring, and the Corvette had a 55# spring.

                  Hi Joe:

Thanks for the tip. I called Lone Star and they had exactly one X-cap in stock, which they were happy to sell me for a very reasonable fee.
