I beleive the repro part is the one on my 68, the other pix are of a 69. I think the 69 is like the 68 should be, am I correct?
    thanks RDR

If the 3 pictures from "intreat.com" are all of the 69, then, yes, that's exactly how the 68-72 solenoid valve should look (minus the foam "filter" on one end).

You say that the one on your 68 looks like the first picture from the Corvette vendor's web-site? That sort of surprises me since I don't think that part has been on the market very long. Did you acquire the car very recently and, perhaps, the prior owner replaced it shortly before?

I have had the car for about 3 years, the guy I bought it off of is no longer around so I don't know how it got there. It works fine and I will wait on on a real one. thanks RDR

I'm speculating here, but it may be that the "reproduction" part is actually a part used for some other application and someone finally discovered that it could be used for the 68-72 wiper door solenoid. Subsequently, it could have been marketed for Corvettes as, basically, a replacement part. It could also be that some folks discovered this a long time ago and sold the solenoid for Corvettes without really "getting into any marketing effort". That may be how it found its way onto your car more than 3 years ago.

What makes me think that the above is a possibility is the fact that the unit is configured differently than the original. If it were a true "reproduction", I would expect exact or near-exact external configuration. Of course, this would not be the case for an existing part for another application that was in whole or part adapted to the Corvette application.

          I agree instead of a $10 part it is a $60 part
